Goodman Fielder Tive Shipment Analysis

Goodman Fielder, a leading food manufacturer, relies on precise logistics to ensure the safe and efficient transport of their products. They engaged Precision Monitoring to enhance visibility into their logistics, who in turn partnered with Philo Software to develop a data-driven solution.

The Challenge

Goodman Fielder’s shipments, tracked through Tive sensors, contained a wealth of environmental data—including temperature, light (lux), and movement. However, the raw data was complex, and identifying key events in the journey, such as when a container was handed over between parties, was difficult. Additionally, inconsistencies and missing data points made it challenging to perform accurate analysis.

Our Solution

Philo Software connected to Goodman Fielder’s Tive account via API, retrieving all shipment data for analysis. We then processed and cleaned the data, detecting errors, filling gaps, and structuring it into an easy-to-use Excel format.

One of the key aspects of our solution was identifying start and stop points for cooled product monitoring. By analysing lux (light exposure) and other environmental factors, we developed an algorithm to detect when a container handover had been completed. This allowed Goodman Fielder to precisely track the handling of temperature-sensitive goods and ensure compliance with cold chain requirements.

To enhance visibility, we visualised the processed data in an Kepler.gl, allowing the team at Goodman Fielder to track individual shipments and analyse port pairs. This interactive map provided a powerful tool to pinpoint bottlenecks, delays, and potential risks in their supply chain.

The Outcome

With our solution in place, Goodman Fielder gained a clear and accurate view of their shipment data, helping them optimise logistics operations, reduce risks, and improve overall supply chain efficiency. By automating the data retrieval and cleaning process, we also eliminated the need for manual data handling, saving valuable time for their team.
